QUALITY GUARANTEES IN THE MAGYAR TELEKOM GROUP

Magyar Telekom Group obtained in October 2008, after successful certification, enhanced certificates for its integrated (quality, environmental and information security) management systems issued by the world’s largest independent quality inspection and certification company SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance SA). (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001).

Magyar Telekom upgraded its quality management system successfully operating since 2002 at both corporate and Group level to create and operate an integrated quality, environmental and information security management system whose certification was completed in November 2008.

Chairman-Chief Executive Officer Christopher Mattheisen commented successful certification as follows: “In the course of the audit we had to present what we do to maintain our successful operations, how we ensure that when changes are being carried out our processes appropriately function to satisfy customers’ requirements. We have rolled out our management systems to the fields of environment protection and information security too.

Magyar Telekom Group, being the leading communication service provider of the region, gives top priority to protection of information. It encompasses customer, business and personal information stored on conventional and electronic data media and protection of related information processing devices too.

Compliance with quality requirements plays a highly important role for the Group. T-brand is equivalent to quality and a wide scope of high standard services that have been recognized by numerous awards.

In 1998 the company’s logistics area obtained the IISA SHIBA award founded by Professor Shiba (Japan). The competition was invited for the development of a process-based performance measurement and internal customer satisfaction measurement system in the logistics area.

The Group’s various areas continuously improve their operations according to the international EFQM model. As a result Magyar Telekom obtained the Recognized for Excellence in Europe Award from the EFQM Foundation seated in Brussels. Magyar Telekom Group’s mobile business T-Mobile Hungary, that was earlier operating as an independent member company, received among others National Quality Award, then European Quality Award.

We were the first telecommunications company to have compliance with relevant laws, our own Code of Practice and applicable authority regulations audited by a certification body assigned by the Minister of IT and Communications, MÁTRIX Kft. To comply with the provisions set forth in Government Decree No. 345/2004. (XII. 22.) Korm. on the requirements for the quality of electronic communications services related to protection of consumers we have a certificate of surveillance of our quality management systems to prove Magyar Telekom’s compliance with required service quality parameters, authenticity, accuracy and closedness of its billing system, compliance with laws for protection of consumers adopted by authorities.
