New channel opening at Telekom: Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 are available code-free to almost all digital TV subscribers until the end of January

The year starts with broadcasting the Australian Open and exclusive winter sports. Between January 16 and 31, 2017 Magyar Telekom makes available (opens up) the Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 sport channels code-free to almost all digital TV subscribers 1 in cooperation with Discovery Communications Europe. Eurosport is home for the Grand Slam tennis tournaments, as for the first time this year this channel has exclusivity to broadcast all four tournaments in Europe.

Telekom TV subscribers included in the offer of channel opening – both on Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 – can follow the matches of this year’s first Grand Slam tennis tournament, the Australian Open live from Melbourne. The programs of Eurosport and broadcasts from the Australian Open will be enriched with sports analyses, more over at the Melbourne tournament the charismatic tennis star, John McEnroe will also return as a self nominated truth teller.

Beside tennis fans, Eurosport 1 also offers rich entertaining programs to lovers of winter sports in the channel opening period, broadcasting heats of the Alpine Ski World Cup, as well as the Ski Jumping World Cup tournaments organized in Zakopane and Willingen and the figure skating European Championship organized this year in Ostrava on January 25-29. On Eurosport 1 snooker fans can follow the attempt of Ronnie O'Sullivan to defend his title at the Masters in London, while biathlon fans can enjoy the broadcast from the Antholz race of the Biathlon World Cup.

On Eurosport 2 the Figure Skating European Championship can also be followed, as well as the Snooker Masters. In addition, to the joy of football fans on January 20 the second half of the seasons will start with the 18th round of Bundesliga: the title holder Bayern in Freiburg can make another step towards the champion title, while Hertha with head coach Dárdai Pál will be countered by the team of Bayer Leverkusen.

Eurosport 1 is available at program location 47, while Eurosport 2 at location 49 within the digital channel assortment of Magyar Telekom.
