Budapest, September 6, 2018 12:00

From now on Telekom supports water polo, ice hockey, women’s football and the men’s gymnastics club, too

Ferencvárosi Torna Club and Magyar Telekom have signed an agreement for another four years whereby not only the men’s football club but also that of the women's as well as the water polo, ice hockey and men’s gymnastics club are supported by the company.

By signing the agreement Telekom expresses its commitment to deepen and extend the current cooperation between the company and the sports club. The company has been supporting FTC’s young talent program since 2014 and the men’s football team since 2015 as the exclusive partner of FTC Football Department. Now, based on the new agreement and as the main sponsor of FTC, the company contributes to the success of the sports club by way of supporting the women’s football, the water polo, the ice hockey and the men’s gymnastics departments of the club, too.  The newly announced agreement fits into Telekom’s general sponsoring strategy and the mother company’s international support system: Hungary’s leading telecommunication service provider supports the most popular and successful clubs and athletes in their respective sports - like the Hungarian Olympic team, Telekom Veszprém and FTC.Within the framework of the sponsorship effort the company also supports the FTC Active Fans’ Program to make sports events even more exciting with various digital solutions - like 360° content from the field, VR activities or the E-fan program.

At the signing ceremony of the main sponsor agreement Magyar Telekom's CEO, Tibor Rékasi said: “Magyar Telekom is proud to be the partner of one of the most successful and most popular Hungarian sports clubs. We are very happy that we have been able to contribute to Ferencváros’ so far success through which the Telekom brand was made visible for almost 1,7 million Hungarians who closely follow the developments and sports activities of FTC. We do hope that the extension of the support and the joint active fan program helps more and more people to sense the importance of sports and even more people will be proud of our achievements in sports.”

“Fradi’s football team has been among the best teams in Hungary’s football.   Besides hard work our success is also attributable to our sponsors as their support helps us to provide a high quality environment to our sportsmen - added Gábor Kubatov, Chairman of the Ferencvárosi Torna Club . “It is an honor for us that Magyar Telekom, Hungary’s leading telecommunication service provider, places confidence in our club again and now not only the men’s football department but also other increasingly successful and popular departments have a new sponsor. We do trust that together we achieve more and now we start an even more successful era in even more sports! We also hope that this will be the season when we stand again on the top of the podium in the Hungarian Football Championship! - said Gábor Kubatov.
