Join Earth Hour!

Turn off your lights for an hour!

Earth Hour had been launched by WWF in Sydney, Australia, in 2007, then became an international initiative and was joined by Hungary for the first time in 2008. Last year, 4000 settlements in 88 countries, as well as several hundreds of millions of people turned off their lights at the same time. In Hungary, 67 settlements and one million people joined the effort.

Earth Hour 2010 takes place on Saturday, March 27, between 8:30 and 9:30 pm . Join the world’s largest global climate change initiative by switching off your lights for the duration of the event! The purpose of the initiative is to draw attention to climate change and its threats, which are unfortunately not taken seriously enough by global decision makers, despite the unfavorable effects experienced recently.

Not only settlements and individuals, but companies can also join Earth Hour. Magyar Telekom and its offer brands, T-Mobile and T-Home take this opportunity and undertake, as they did in 2008 and 2009, to switch off the lights in their shops and office buildings, as well as their neon signs for the duration of Earth Hour. As members of Magyar Telekom Group, Origo and iWiW also takes part in the initiative by appearing with a black background during the event.
