DATA PROTECTION GUIDANCE

General information

Magyar Telekom Plc. respects and protects the personal data of those too who contact the Company through its web site.

The data protection activity of Magyar Telekom Plc. is governed by the below laws:

  • Act C. of 2003 on Electronic Communications,
  • Act LXIII. of 1992 on the protection of personal data and the publicity of data of public interest,
  • Government Decree No. 226/2003 (XII. 13.) on the special conditions of the data management activities of telecommunications service providers, the data security of telecommunications services and the rules of call number display and call rerouting,
  • IHM (Ministry of Informatics and Telecommunications) Decree No. 16/2003. (XII.27.) on the telecommunications subscription contracts.

Further data protection measures applied by Magyar Telekom Plc.: Code of Conduct for the Protection of the Individual’s Right to Privacy in the Handling of Personal Data within the Deutsche Telekom Group.
HMagyar Telekom Plc. shall not be held liable for the data management activity of those web sites from/to which visitors are taken to/from Magyar Telekom’s web site.

Registry of data

No personal data is required to visit the web site of the Company.

However, for the use of certain services (e.g. job applications) certain personal data are required (e.g. name, address). In these cases prior to registering such data Magyar Telekom Plc. informs the affected persons on data management rules and acquires their prior consent, which can be withdrawn any time.

Magyar Telekom Plc. temporarily uses the below automatically generated information – not containing personal data – during the technical operation of its web site: the internet protocol address of the computer (IP-address), domain-name (URL), access data, customer file request (file name and URL), HTTP answer code, data of the web site from which the data were requested, quantity of the bite traffic, time of the visit, data of the visited pages and the name of the browser program. In certain cases anonymous visit identifiers (cookies) are used to optimalize the web site according to visitor preferences.

Use, transfer of data

Each case when Magyar Telekom Plc. wishes to use the collected data for other purposes than the original purpose of data collection the affected person is notified, his/her prior consent is requested and the possibility is ensured to withdraw such approval any time.

Magyar Telekom Plc. does not transfer the managed personal data for third parties under any circumstances, except for cases defined in the relevant laws.

Data security

In order to prevent unauthorized use and misuse of the managed data our company uses extended technical and technological security measures. We regularly check our security processes and develop them parallel with the technological background.

Information

In case of written requests Magyar Telekom Plc. informs the affected persons on the management of their personal data.
