Due to its strong sustainability performance, Magyar Telekom Group has gained the attention of socially responsible investors (investors taking into consideration environmental and social factors as part of their investment criteria).
Magyar Telekom has been included in the
Central-Eastern European responsible investment index CEERIUS (Central and
Eastern European Responsible Investment Universe) since its launch. The index
was launched by the Vienna Stock Exchange (Wiener Börse) in 2009 and it
includes the companies from eight countries of the region that perform the best
from environmental, social and economic points of view.
The
companies have been evaluated on the basis of their responsible stakeholder
relations. In the evaluation, they studied, among others, the relation of
companies to their own employees, to customers, market partners, to the society
as a whole and to the environment.
You can read more about the index at http://en.indices.cc/indices/details/riu.

Asset Management (SAM), which includes
the top 15% of the 2500 rated companies from 57 sectors.
For the
first time in 2009, an independent rating agency, Oekom Research, audited the

(recommended). In other words, Oekom recommends Magyar Telekom as a socially responsible
investment to its clients, which manage funds worth around EURO 90 billion on
the basis of its research.

Whilst the Group was not admitted into the index at this time for technical reasons, despite the fact it scored higher than that the company with the lowest score within the DJSI World Index.
