Magyar Telekom (Reuters: MTEL.BU and Bloomberg: MTELEKOM HB, hereinafter the “Company”), the leading Hungarian telecommunications service provider, hereby announces that the Company purchased 1,616,951 Magyar Telekom ordinary shares (HU0000073507) over the counter from the Magyar Telekom Plc. Employee Share Ownership Program Organization (ESOP Organization) at HUF 460 per share on May 9, 2019.

The repurchased shares are connected to the member’s share of employees, who were excluded from the incentive program based on the new remuneration policy announced on March 28, 2018 since the program start. As a result of modification of its incentive program the Company will not continue its share ownership program in the future.

Following the transaction the number of treasury shares held by Magyar Telekom increased to 8,836,348.
