According to the lecture - although the diseases of civilization cannot yet be prevented - we are now aware of a number of factors playing a role in the development of such diseases. Medical research of the past decades has revealed that the origin of certain diseases of civilization goes back to the period of intra-uterine development. We are able to reduce the risk factors, and so to prevent the development of these diseases.
