The number of fixed-line subscribers has increased in January 2003. According to the first flash report published this year by the Communications Authority the number of subscribers registered by the service providers has increased by 2,500 from December 2002 to January 2003. In January 3,655,102 connected main lines were operating in Hungary. In the first month of the year the aggregate duration of calls per main line rose to 257 minutes. The average duration of calls also grew to 3 minutes 12 seconds.
