János Szabó (42) graduated from the International Relations Faculty of the Budapest University of Economics in 1994; subsequently, he became a chartered accountant in 1994.

János Szabó started his career in the area of international relations. The positions he held include Senior Manager at the International Bank Marketing Department of Magyar Hitel Bank and Head of the International Youth Exchange Office of the National Bureau of Physical Education and Sports.

From 1991 on, he participated as a consultant in making preparations for various privatization and joint venture projects, then joined the Dutch consulting company Larive B. V. From 1993, he became Senior Consultant and Financial Director of Ágoston – Faller Befektetési Tanácsadó Társaság (Investment Consulting Company).

From 1995 on, he held various positions at Delco Remy International. First he was Financial Director of Delco Remy Hungary, then in 1996 he became Deputy General Director of the same company. In 1997 he was appointed European Financial Director; since 2001 he has been acting as Financial Director of Hitachi Remy Automotive.
