Any call made to the 1749 Donation Line between 00:00 on January 5, 2005 and 24:00 on January 31, 2005 brings HUF 200 to the people in need. Matáv's customers alone collected more than HUF 55 million in two weeks. On January 6, 2005, all three mobile providers joined Matáv's initiative; in this way, their customers can also donate HUF 200 to the victims with calls made to the 1749 Donation Line. The Hungarian Red Cross Organization forwards the donations as emergency aid to the victims with the help of the International Red Cross.
