The Petőfi Literary Museum (PIM) has recently acquired a new relic of inestimable value, an original manuscript by the great Hungarian poet Sándor Petőfi. The museum has managed to purchase the original manuscript of the poem “A virágok” (1847) (Flowers) from a Budapest art collector with the moral and financial support of Magyar Telekom (formerly Matáv).

The manuscript was formally presented to the general director of the museum Rita Ratzky by Magyar Telekom Chairman-CEO Elek Straub at the Magyar Telekom Rebranding ceremony on June 8, 2005. The valuable relic was placed in the museum’s Manuscript Collection where it is available to researchers for study, and after it has been digitized, it will be accessible for the general public too.
