Matáv to give HUF 40 million to flood victims

The flooding of the Tisza River was a disaster that hit tens of thousands of people in Hungary. MATÁV is crediting 50% of the usage fee charged in the April telephone bills to all of its residential customers in the settlements devastated.

Following the calamities caused by last year's flood and inland waters, the flooding of the Tisza River has again hit tens of thousands of people in Hungary. MATÁV is helping the victims of the disaster again. Unlike last year's support which was given by MATÁV to the local administrations, now the Company wishes to reduce the burden of private people living in the settlements devastated.

MATÁV is crediting 50% of the usage fee charged in the April telephone bills to all of its residential customers in the settlements devastated by flood. The total fees credited in this way are worth HUF 40 million.

A corporate program was also launched recently to help the flood victims. It is intended to round out the private donations of MATÁV employees. They have offered HUF 100,000 so far to which MATÁV adds 200,000 forints.
