Budapest, January 27, 2000

As of February 1st, 2000 MATÁV enables direct calls to mobile subscribers of the EMSAT regional satellite network via the international public telecommunications network and the EUTELSAT satellite system.

Introduction of the EMSAT service makes it possible to establish direct telecommunications connection between MATÁV subscribers and mobile subscribers of the EMSAT network located at any area of the European, Mediterranean and North African regions, for making international telephone calls, forwarding fax messages, as well as for data transmission purposes.

As of February 1st, 2000, mobile subscribers of the EMSAT network can be dialed directly from MATÁV subscriber stations with a long distance call, by dialing the 00 international prefix, the five-digit EMSAT network identification number 88213, and the number of the EMSAT mobile subscriber.
EMSAT mobile subscribers cannot be called from public card or coin-operated telephone stations and the service is not available through the operator either.

The charge for calls billed on a time basis is HUF 780 + VAT (gross HUF 975/minute).

In case of a successful call (i.e. if the connection is established between the calling and the called party) a call set-up fee is charged. This fee is HUF 6.00 + VAT per call (gross HUF 7.50/call).
