The number of subscribers using the "Felező" package passed the 100 000 mark today. By the end of February 40 000 customers subscribed to the tariff package launched on February 1, while in March one and half times more, 60 000 customers subscribed to the service in response to the additional discounts launched on March 1.

Starting from March Matáv offers its residential customers higher discounts than ever on the wireline phone calls. From March 1, 2003 the minute fees of the "Felező" tariff package introduced on February 1 decreased substantially. As a result the tariff package offers subscribers over 2 hours of free calls. By using the tariff package half of the gross monthly fee of HUF 3210 – i.e. a gross amount of HUF 1605 – can be used for phone calls and no call setup fee is charged. Starting from March customers using the "Felező" package can make local and domestic long distance calls at HUF 12 gross per minute during the off-peak period, while in the peak period the minute fee is HUF 20 gross. The international, mobile and Internet fees of the "Felező" package are identical with the tariffs of the Basic package. The new tariffs apply automatically to the customers who subscribed to the tariff package before March.

Matáv recommends its "Felező" tariff package to low user customers (with bills amounting to HUF 4000 within the Basic package) and to medium users (with bills amounting to HUF 5000 within the Basic package). Migration to the "Felező" package allows savings amounting to 18-25% for low user customers compared to the Basic package, while in the case of medium users the savings amount to 19-26%. The tariff package is especially favorable for customers living in the country as they can make long distance phone calls at any time of day without call setup fee, at extremely favorable rates.
