Tariffs of Felező and Minimál tariff packages will not change in 2005 - New type offer by Matáv

Budapest, November 25, 2004 11:30

The tariffs of Felező and Minimál tariff packages (monthly fee + usage tariff) will remain unchanged after January 1, 2005. This means that around 1 million Matáv customers can make calls in 2005 at this year's prices. However the tariff structure of commercial residential tariff packages will change from January 1 and Matáv is introducing a unique new offer called Szabadnap (Free Day).

1 million customers can make calls at unchanged prices

In 2005 Matáv will cover the additional costs resulting from inflation for the Minimál and Felező tariff packages. In this way Matáv will not place an additional burden of higher telephone charges - not even in proportion to inflation - on its customers most affected by the "usual" annual price increase (e.g. that of public utilities). This means that around 1 million customers can make calls in 2005 at unchanged prices.

New type offer and changing tariff structure in commercial tariff packages

From January 1, 2005 Matáv will introduce a unique new offer in its commercial tariff packages. With the "Free Day" offer any customer who subscribes to a Matáv commercial residential tariff package (Bázis, Csevegő, Sokatmondó) - that is around 1.2 million customers - can make free calls in the off-peak period (from 18.00 to 07.00 of the following day), in local and long-distance zone 1 direction (within the same town or between towns in the same primary area) at a weekday selected by the customer. Additionally Matáv will offer these roughly 1.2 million customers calling line identification presentation, call waiting and call forwarding services free of charge. From January 1, 2005 the monthly fee of commercial tariff packages will rise by less than the inflation rate - by 5.6% - while usage tariffs (minute fee + switching fee) will not change.
