Magyar Telekom and partner carriers offer joint IPTV service

Budapest, June 11, 2009 11:30

Magyar Telekom, in cooperation with its wholesale partners, has launched a joint IP television (IPTV) service, which means that the partner Internet service providers can provide advanced IPTV service to their subscribers jointly with Magyar Telekom but under their own brand.

The new service relying on Magyar Telekom's technical background and capacities enables the business partners using our wholesale products such as wholesale ADSL and naked ADSL, to provide high-quality IPTV under their own brand in addition to their own Internet service. Thanks to this opportunity, Magyar Telekom's Internet service provider (ISP) partners can offer their customers competitive 2-play (Internet and IPTV) and 3-play (Internet, IPTV and telephone) service packages.

In the future, Magyar Telekom will provide the possibility for its cooperating Internet service provider partners to introduce the joint IPTV service.

In the framework of the IPTV service, provided jointly by the partner carriers and Magyar Telekom, individual program packages can be set up from among the television channels available for Magyar Telekom, within the frameworks set by the content owners.

The partner carriers themselves were also involved in the development of the IPTV service offered under the brand of the ISP partners, and after the tests have been closed, they can continuously advertise the new service for their customers.
