Winner of Magyar Telekom Group's media agency tender announced

The tender announced in June 2009 by Magyar Telekom for media design and buying tasks on Group level has been closed. The winner of the open multi-stage tender is Mediaedge:cia Hungary Kft. This company will handle both online and offline media tasks for Magyar Telekom from January 1, 2010.

Magyar Telekom announced an open multi-stage tender for the media tasks of the Group and its offer brands, T-Home, T-Mobile and T-Systems at the beginning of June 2009. A working group of Group experts was set up to select the media agency that has the necessary professional competencies and references. Five agencies were selected through the prequalifying procedure and invited to submit bids in writing. After assessing the bids four bidders were invited for a verbal presentation. Based on the written bids and verbal presentations three agencies were put on the short list of potential contractors. The final decision was made in the last stage after several rounds of negotiations. Mediaedge:cia Hungary Kft. will handle both online and offline media design and buying tasks for the Magyar Telekom Group from January 1, 2010.

At present, Mediaedge:cia Hungary Kft. handles the offline media tasks for Magyar Telekom, and Kirowski Zrt., the winner of the online tender in 2007 is responsible for the online tasks. A major goal of Magyar Telekom was to achieve an integrated media management and it therefore searched for a media agency that is able to handle both online and offline design and buying tasks.

Magyar Telekom - through its brands - is one of the biggest advertisers of Hungary's advertising market.
