The new terminal equipment service – being unique in Hungary and only available with T-Mobile – might come handy in case of theft, vandalism or accidental damage of telephones
In the frame of the new service – being unique in the Hungarian mobile market – two different, favourably priced tariff packages are available. The cheaper package – with a monthly fee of HUF 490 – offers coverage against accidental damages (e.g. natural catastrophe, dropping, breakage, dropping in water of damages caused by third parties), while the more extensive package – with a monthly fee of HUF 790 – also offers coverage for theft, including robbery, upon the conditions stipulated in the contract. Postpaid T-Mobile subscribers - over the age of 18 – purchasing handsets in the operator’s shops may sign such handset insurance contracts at the time of purchase or within 60 days from purchase, by presenting the invoice, verifying the fact of purchase.
In case the telephone covered by the insurance contract is damaged in any way outlined in the conditions of the selected package, T-Mobile repairs the damaged telephone. Non repairable or stolen handsets are replaced by T-Mobile with an identical type telephone. The handset to be replaced may not be available though in the portfolio of T-Mobile, in such cases the subscriber may choose another type up to the value maximum 110 percent of the actual, discounted list price of the damaged telephone. In case of damages – depending on the package – a self-contribution also needs to be paid. In case of the smaller package this amounts to HUF 4,500 while with the larger package it costs HUF 6,000 – the Gold level customers of T-Mobile receive a 10% discounts on this, Platinum level subscribers enjoy 20 percent discount. The insurance in neither case include the re-establishment of data stored in the terminal or on the SIM card.
