Magyar Telekom strengthens its IT portfolio

From today, after the conclusion of the deed of sale agreement on July 20, 2010, the Competition Office approval and the successful closing of the year Daten-Kontor Kft. continues its operation as a 100% Magyar Telekom subsidiary. The IT company further strengthens the quality IT services portfolio of the Magyar Telekom Group.

From March 1, 2011 Daten-Kontor Kft. continues its operation as a 100% Magyar Telekom subsidiary within Magyar Telekom's Business Services Business Unit (T-Systems). The new subsidiary, together with IQSYS Zrt. that has a similar service portfolio and is responsible for applications, will strengthen each other in many areas and may expand their scope of activities to new markets. Daten-Kontor develops, installs and operates IT applications from two sites in Budapest and Pécs. In 2010 the audited revenue of Daten-Kontor Kft. was HUF 2.7 billion and its EBITDA was HUF 340 million. The group level consolidated revenue of Daten-Kontor exceeded HUF 3 billion.

With the acquisition Magyar Telekom becomes stronger in the domestic and international market of IT services. The new member of Telekom Group is present in Croatia, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and Sweden" - said Tibor Rékasi, acting Chief Operating Officer, Magyar Telekom, Business Services Business Unit.

Daten-Kontor has extensive experience in the development, installation and operation of IT applications both in Hungary and abroad. It plays a key role in developing customized applications for the telecommunications, state and public administration, manufacturing industry and public utility sector. The company's solutions are known in particular in the billing, customer service, e-administration support, manufacturing logistics, technical and geographic information systems areas. Besides, the company introduces the products of major international software producers and adds its special, industry specific solutions to them. Daten-Kontor customers, through the wide product portfolio of T-Systems, may enjoy the advantages of further integrated solutions through the expansion of telecom solutions, administration technology and competences.

Daten-Kontor Kft. has numerous products, solutions that we wish to offer in the future - together with the T-Systems portfolio as - Software as a Service - type of services. These will represent a step forward in the field of - among others - e-municipality solutions (LoGo), facility management and investment management areas" - stressed László Blénessy, managing director of Daten-Kontor.
