As a result of Telekom’s intensive network development the new generation mobile internet, the 4G/LTE will be accessible by the end of June 2012 in most of Siófok, Keszthely and Hévíz. As the special sponsor of the Heineken Balaton Sound in July, the provider will be awaiting festival visitors to the event with its 4G/LTE network.

Those who wish to use the service will need a Net&Roll 4G mobile internet package and an LTE-enabled device in the area covered. The provider offers T-Mobile’s 4G USB modem or the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE tablet for using the service. In addition to this, users can order through T-Mobile’s website the 4G router which can be connected to the 4G/LTE network to distribute the large bandwidth offered by the technology among wifi-enabled devices. In this way several devices (netbook, tablet, smart telephone) in the same home or office can comfortably use the internet, taking advantage of the benefits of the 4G/LTE network*.

The major and tangible benefit for the users of the 4G/LTE technology is its much higher downloading and uploading speed**, and the reduced delay period makes it even easier to use online applications and games through the mobile network, high definition video films of even HD quality can be downloaded and uploaded significantly more quickly and several programs can be run simultaneously, all of which spectacularly improve customer experience.

T-Mobile launched its 4G/LTE-based mobile internet service in Budapest this January, as the first and so far only provider of this service in Hungary. The provider will extend the 4G/LTE-based mobile internet service to the agglomeration of Budapest and several country towns during the summer and the expansion of coverage in Budapest will also continue. Currently the 4G/LTE service is available to 98% of Budapest’s citizens outdoors*** and to 73% indoors.

*The speed may be limited by the highest downloading speed of the device connected.

**The speed a subscriber experiences depends on the availability of a device that supports the technology concerned and is adequately enabled, a tariff package and also on whether the network or the tariff package supports the given speed at the point concerned, as well as on radio and usage conditions .

**Outdoor coverage: Mobile internet service is available in the area concerned outdoors and, in certain cases, within buildings in the area covered externally.
Indoor coverage: Mobile internet service can also be used within the building in the area concerned, taking into consideration the fact that the signal is generally stronger near windows and on higher floors. Reinforced concrete, coloured glass and heat-reflecting foil shadow the signal considerably. Surrounding buildings may also impede the propagation of signals.
