Magyar Telekom – uniquely in Hungary – has been offering also energy services to residential T-Home customers. On April 1, 2012 Telekom reached another milestone: the company offers favourably priced electric energy and natural gas services to residential customers in the whole country. Simultaneously, Telekom renews and further simplifies the discount system, therefore its customers can use the Energy Start discount scheme in case of any existing T-Home TV, Internet or telephone service.
„Almost two years after the service launch by now we are able to offer also energy to our customers, further to telecommunication services, with the usual Telekom customer service. I trust that after this new milestone our clientele subscribing for energy services numbering more than 50 thousand increases further” – said Róbert Pataki, chief strategy and business development officer of Magyar Telekom. Within the energy service related discount scheme customers can receive Start and Energy Extra discounts, enabling regular monthly savings. In the Connection Program customers entitled to T-Home Gold and Platinum discounts receive an 8% discount from the relevant universal energy service prices (upon fulfilling the conditions of using the scheme).
As a new feature, the Energy Start discount scheme – offering 5% discount on electric energy and natural gas – is now available also to customers not yet entitled to Gold and Platinum discounts, along with any T-Home TV- (including IPTV, Interactive Sat TV), Internet- or fixed line telephone service.
Telekom completely administers all actions required for changing energy service providers for customers signing up for energy services. Energy service remains continuous while changing service providers, no installation or replacement of electric energy and gas meters is required on location.
As commonly known, Magyar Telekom has been selling electric energy and natural gas services – with a discount vs. the universal electricity and gas prices - from May 17, 2010 to customers of any T-Home service.
