The Board of Directors of Magyar Telekom elected Chairperson

Budapest, April 24, 2013 11:30

The Board of Directors of Magyar Telekom elected its Chairperson, Kerstin Günther, who is currently Deutsche Telekom’s Senior Vice President of Technology for Europe. The change does not affect the CEO tasks and Board of Directors membership of Christopher Mattheisen.

The Board of Directors decided that tasks relating to Magyar Telekom’s executive management will be separated from those of the Chairperson of the Board. This structure is in line with other Group companies’ practice across the Deutsche Telekom Group.

The separation of executive management from the Chairperson of the Board of Directors in person, and election of a non-executive Board member as Chairperson will enhance further the transparency in the Company’s corporate governance.

Ms. Kerstin Günther joined Deutsche Telekom Group in 1991, has held various management positions during her time with the Group and has extensive international experience. Ms. Günther’s earlier positions have included Vice President of Regulatory Affairs and Senior Vice President of Wholesale at Magyar Telekom from 1997 to 2001. Ms. Günther has been Deutsche Telekom’s Senior Vice President of Technology for Europe since March 2012 and is responsible for the functional management of technology across 13 European countries within Deutsche Telekom Group.

The members of Magyar Telekom’s Board of Directors were elected by the Annual General Meeting held on April 12, 2013 and their mandate will expire on May 31, 2016, or on the day of the General Meeting that will close the business year 2015.
