More than six million HUF to the SOS Children’s Village contributed by Magyar Telekom, the Sustainability Media Club and Telekom’s customers

In the December cookie promotion of Magyar Telekom and the Sustainability Media Club created by the company, members of the Media Club offered their own home-made cookies and cakes for sale. Telekom’s Christmas electronic greeting card is also works as a donation for the Foundation. The telecommunication company adds to that substantially, when handing it over.

The company’s promotion called „Giving makes you feel good! Cookie promotion“ delivered nice results in December also this year. Telekom’s associates and managers were also joined by members of the Sustainability Media Club (FMK), participating not only in raising awareness, but also baking the cookies. In a single morning, the voluntarily paid amount for home made cookies increased to 800 thousand HUF. The cookie promotion being already a tradition by now, was awarded the CSR Hungary Prize in November, last year as a charity program model.
Anyone wishing to use this year-end gesture or sympathizing with the possibility of automatic cahrity could choose from numerous greeting cards in December on Magyar Telekom website – with each greeting card sent 100 HUF was donated to children in need.

With 5 million HUF added by Telekom finally Ildikó Kovács, the company’s communication director handed over a donation of HUF 6,037,695 to the Hungarian Foundation of SOS Children’s Village.

„The donation will be used for establishing a therapy room in one of our facilities in the    Kecskemét region. Here individual psycho-therapy assistance will be offered to children, who need a special environment to treat their psychological injuries, including music or light therapy tools” – said Gábor Gosztonyi, managing director of the Hungarian Foundation of SOS Children’s Village.

“We attach special importance to the upgrowing generation among our charity target areas, moreover with this donation we can offer substantial help to children more in need than the average. The cooperation backing this donation makes especially happy, this success is not only merited to Telekom, as in addition to our enthused associates participating in the cookie promotion, members of the Sustainability Media Club also deserve special appreciation“ – said Ildikó Kovács.
