Magyar Telekom and MOL starting a strategic partnership

  • Magyar Telekom and MOL today have signed a strategic agreement for further cooperation
  • Cooperation will focus on marketing, sale, retail, energy retail, information technology and telecommunication

Christopher Mattheisen, Magyar Telekom CEO and Zsolt Hernádi, MOL Chairman-CEO today have signed a strategic agreement between the two groups at Budapest. The agreement covers issues of cooperation in the field of marketing, retail, energy retail and information technology.

The strategic document, inter alia, contains a letter of intent about cooperation in expanding various wholesale and retail services and other areas of marketing and saleas well as information technology and telecommunication. Furthermore, companies set out that the parties will investigate the opportunities for cooperation in the regional markets in the future.

As of today MOL will look at Magyar Telekom as a strategic partner, and the parties will strive for growing and creating value while supporting each other. The cooperation will offer mutual benefits for both parties, moreover it can also contribute to expanding Hungary’s economy. Especially our clients will be the main beneficiaries, as through the collaboration we will be able to deliver better and higher level services” – pointed out Zsolt Hernádi, MOL Chairman-CEO.

Having signed the agreement, Christopher Mattheisen, Magyar Telekom CEO commented: “The agreement signed today means that the two market leading groups as the key driving forces of the Hungarian economy will combine resources for the benefit of their clients and the interest of the country. We have already identified several opportunities for cooperation, and I am quite confident that we will develop quite a number of plans from this strategic partnership to be jointly implemented with MOL. We are sure that combining our skills, knowledge and competencies we will be more successful both in Hungary and in the region.”
