The State Secretariat for Social and Family Affairs of the Ministry of Human Resources announced the winners of the 2013 Family Friendly Workplace. Magyar Telekom won an  award for its project White Box and also received the title Family Friendly Workplace.

28 of the 244 valid applications were awarded prizes. The tender’s objective is to support workplace family friendly programs targeting the establishment and development of family friendly workplaces, which promote the harmonization of commitments at work and in private life. With its project White Box Telekom earned the award – the project enables the employer to map the employee potential developing after a lengthy absence (most often after maternity leave). The result can be used by HR associates in the company’s daily life, as data base for recruitment processes applied for filling in positions within the company. The regular updates made in the data base called White Box also serves the purpose of raising awareness of colleagues being absent for a longer period about their own responsibility concerning their career planning.

On the subject of receiving the international award, Éva Somorjai, the company’s chief HR officer said: „Magyar Telekom operates in one of the most exciting and successful industries, setting new challenges every day for our associates. Our objective is to make Magyar Telekom not only a good place to work, but also give our colleagues to opportunity to demonstrate their capabilities. We also make our contribution: with our innovative HR tools we try to help our colleagues in any life situation. In order to support the setting the balance between work and private life we launched our highly successful Young Mother program and introduced the possibility of remote working on the last Friday of each month. We continue to do our utmost making sure that Magyar Telekom is a loveable and livable workplace, preserving its excellent position among the most attractive workplaces in Hungary.”

The efforts of Magyar Telekom to act as responsible employer earned numerous awards even earlier, most recently – a few weeks ago – the company won the Deficiency-friendly Workplace title. This year for the second time the company won the „Versatile organization TOP10” title. Magyar Telekom won the second position in the large company category of Aon Hewitt’s 2012 Hungarian Best Workplace Survey. In November 2010 the company won the HR Oscar Prize of the Hungarian Association of HR Consultants. In March 2010 the company was awarded the Golden Bridge prize, appreciating the HR team of the year. Following the 2008 Family Friendly Workplace award Magyar Telekom also won the Best Workplace title in 2009 based on the opinion of the associates, while in the summer of 2010 the company received the Central-Eastern European Best Workplace title.
