Free of charge, Hungarian language smartphone application for beginner and professional runners.

Futótárs, the free of charge smartphone running application of Telekom was renewed and extended. The Hungarian language application – refreshed both in functionality and appearance – uses location based features, showing the actual position of the runner on the smartphone’s display in real time.

Obviously, the application – which can be downloaded on phones with iOS and Android operation systems – not only offers useful information on the run but also provides personalized training schedules and advices to both joggers and runners training for competitions. Futótárs controls the execution of the training schedule and assists runners with voice commands, as well as records the results by generating statistics that can later be viewed in graphic format.

Using the application one can monitor earlier runs.
Runners are informed about the elapsed time, the distance made and the momentary and average speeds during the run in voice messages. The frequency of voice announcements can be set can be pre-set based on the time elapsed or the distance made.

The competition calendar function of Futótárs – provided by the Budapest Sports Office (BSI) – offers detailed and up-to-date information about upcoming running events, including the Telekom Vivicittá to be held next Sunday. Runners preparing for competitions can mark contests they want to participate at and can also assign reminders to them.

Futótárs offers the possibility of listening to music on the phone while running. In addition, after the training the performance results can be shared on community sites with friends. In case someone wishes to use the application on several telephones, following the login with the other terminal, existing data are synchronized and Futótárs is ready to go.
