Magyar Telekom continued its acquisition activities in cable market in 2014 in order to further expand its high-speed Internet coverage. As a result of the acquisitions completed this year Telekom’s high-speed Internet service reaches 30 thousand more households. In addition to fixed line broadband, customers can access TV and voice services as well through the acquired cable networks.

As Hungary’s largest telecommunications service provider, Magyar Telekom continued to expand its high-speed Internet (HSI) coverage and strengthened its market positions through these acquisitions. Magyar Telekom Group is already serving its new customers, who have nothing to do about the change. Telekom is going to complete the necessary upgrades and service developments in the course of integration of the new business activities. As a result Magyar Telekom will offer its full service portfolio to its new customers as well.

Telekom is committed to increasing broadband coverage and Internet penetration in Hungary in order to promote the country’s digital development. In harmony with the goals of Digital Hungary, the company enhances through its investments as well that high-speed broadband Internet be available in every Hungarian household already in 2018, two years ahead of the deadline specified by the EU.
