Change in Magyar Telekom Group’s top management

Magyar Telekom announces, that Éva Somorjai, chief human resources officer of the company was appointed as chief human resources officer of the European center of the Deutsche Telekom Group, effective from January 1, 2017.

Somorjai Éva has been chief human resources officer of Magyar Telekom since April 1, 2007. Heading the HR field, among others Magyar Telekom was awarded the Best Employer Award in 2012, The Family Friendly Award both in 2013 and 2015, as well as the Deficiency Friendly Employer Award in 2015. In 2015 the completely carbon neutral operation was achieved by the company, within the framework of the Sustainability Strategy of the Magyar Telekom Group.

„Somorjai Éva in the past ten years spent in her position significantly contributed to Magyar Telekom being an attractive employer, open for future challenges, appreciated  both by employees and market players. Éva also earned everlasting merits in establishing the concept of our new Budapest headquarters under construction, which is regarded as the workplace of the future. Éva put major emphasis on paying attention to all the aspects in the course of everyday work, which make Magyar Telekom a truly responsible and sustainable company. We are proud that Éva continues her career in the headquarters of Deutsche Telekom, as not only is this personal verification to her but also to Magyar Telekom, underlining that we are heading the right direction” – said Christopher Mattheisen, chief operating officer of Magyar Telekom. 

Somorjai Éva remains in her current position until December 31, 2016. The decision about her successor will be made later.
