Telekom announces a competition for sustainable organizations - Exemplary projects and programs are expected for the DELFIN Award competition this year again

Magyar Telekom announces the DELFIN Award competition this year again, honoring the activity of enterprises and organizations with high commitment towards sustainable development and with exemplary sustainability performance in relation to their activity.

Telekom established the DELFIN (Hungarian abbreviation of „ Díj egy ELkötelezett, Fenntartható, Innovatív Nemzedékért ”, standing for  – “ Award for a Committed, Sustainable and Innovative Generation” ) Award in 2008 with the intent of awareness raising and promoting sustainable development, acknowledging the related activities.

Companies and organization registered and acting in Hungary can apply for the DELFIN Award with already completed and operating projects and programs.

This year the company expects applications in the below four categories:

  • Implemented innovation serving the purpose of sustainability
  • Supporting equality of chances, promoting discrimination-free practices both inside and outside the company
  • Capital expenditure and development related to the protection of climate
  • Awareness raising and education related to sustainability

Applications received will be evaluated by a four member professional jury, composed of Bodó Péter, founder of route4U; György Bence, content director of portal Origo, the representative of the Sustainability Media Club; Dr. Pataki György, docent of the Budapest Corvinus University and Szomolányi Katalin, head of the corporate sustainability center of Telekom.

Winners of the 2017 DELFIN Award will receive the creations of glass artist Botos Péter, specifically made for this occasion. In case the winners are SMEs or NGOs, they will also receive 2 years Magenta 1 and  Webkönnyen subscriptions, while winning large companies will have the opportunity to exhibit and introduce themselves at the T-Systems Hungary 2017 Symposium – the largest, full day event of the ICT industry. In addition, all award winners will have the opportunity to exhibit at the 10th Telekom Sustainability Day on September 30, 2017 in Akvárium Klub, introducing their results achieved in the field of sustainability, while 2-3 minutes demonstration videos will also be made about the winning applications, which also comes with online promotion.
