Magyar Telekom starts building a 5G test network in Zalaegerszeg

The test environment in Zalaegerszeg offers a good basis for Hungary to become one of the regional centers of 5G developments, even playing a leading role in the region in the field of testing new network technology and smart solutions built on them. Promoting this objective, Telekom starts building a 5G pilot mobile communication network at the motor vehicle test area to be established in Zalaegerszeg. Currently the 4G and 4G+ mobile networks represent the most modern mobile network technology, however the infrastructure of future will clearly be built on 5G. Resulting from the competences of T-Systems Hungary, the city can access applications operating on the most sophisticated actual digital infrastructure, and the company also cooperates in testing and establishing self driving cars as well as smart transport solutions.

All the above take place in the frame of the developments, the letter of intent about the joint cooperation agreement was signed today at the Zalaegerszeg MOBIL 2017 Vehicle Industry and Logistics Trade Exhibition and Conference by the government, the city, Autóipari Próbapálya Zala Kft. (Automotive Test Course Ltd.) Magyar Telekom and T-Systems Hungary.
