Telekom has connected the 2700th small community to its superfast 4G network in Hungary

Budapest, February 13, 2018 10:00

As a result of the network development efforts of Magyar Telekom at the end of November 2017 the operator made available its 4G mobile Internet service in more than 2600 communities with less than six thousand residents.  Development has not stopped since then, now the technicians of the company have connected the 2700th small community to the superfast mobile Internet service.

“We consider it a significant step that our maximum-speed network has reached such small communities where the 4G network infrastructure has not been available up to now” told Christopher Mattheisen, Chief Executive Officer of Magyar Telekom. “Our 4G network, considered the 5th best in the world*, provides the basis for more and more of our customers to join the community of users of digital services, thus upgrading to NOW” he added.

“The residential outdoor coverage of the 4G network of Telekom has already exceeded 99 per cent, and parallel with that, the operator keeps improving 4G indoor residential coverage as well, which now stands at 88.5%.

Additionally, the company keeps developing its even faster 4G+ mobile Internet network, which is available now in almost 70 communities in Hungary. (The list of these communities is available here .)
