This year's esport CUP powered by Telekom ended with a gigantic clash of streamers

The esport CUP powered by Telekom, the event of talented domestic e-athletes and high-quality technological solutions, ended with great success in Budapest on 2 December. The event, which was organized for the third time, had exciting programs for the whole day for both the competitors and interested visitors.

At the League of Legends championship, the teams that made it through the pre-qualifiers could compete for valuable prizes in the esport CUP powered by Telekom competition. The qualifiers were streamed live, as well as the final – alongside esport1 Twitch and Magyar Telekom's YouTube channel - and at the venue. Not only did the champions perform excellently, but Telekom's 5G mobile network, as well as the fixed network built for the competition, enabled a low-latency gaming experience and undisturbed follow-up of the duels.

There was already huge interest in the open qualifiers in November: this year a total of 80 teams registered for the biggest League of Legends LAN tournament in Hungary, of which 11 made it through the three-day pre-qualifiers. The winning team of Telekom's home championship held two days before the finals also qualified for the finals, thus forming the field of 12 for Saturday's event.Thanks to the on-site commentary of BLYYYPLAYS, Pierce, Loemifar, and Livius, no one missed a single moment of the clashes.

The legendary experience was provided by Telekom's network again this year: the contestants who made it to the finals in Telekom's building on Fehérvári út, on a dedicated wired network, on the most powerful gamer PCs on a private network with a maximum download and upload of 1 Gbps, they could LoL with an average latency of 7 ms. In addition to LoL, Wild Rift, and Teamfight Tactics could be played on the 5G network built for the competition, with an average latency of 20 ms and an estimated maximum download speed of 1,1 Gbps.On-site, in addition to LoL, Paplovag, and Brozilla put their skills to the test in the two games, which were played on smartphones via Telekom's 5G network.The cup final, which was the highlight of the day, took place in the evening by the traditions of the sport. During the day, sixty competitors could play simultaneously on a desktop computer with a wired internet connection.

The championship is supported by esport1 Kft. awaited the winners with valuable prizes courtesy of Magyar Telekom, Samsung Electronics Magyar Zrt., Huawei Technologies Hungary Kft., and Xbox. This year's championship was won by the ChocolateBalls team, the winners each won a Meta Oculus 2 VR headset and a Samsung Galaxy A54 5G Dual SIM mobile phone. All members of the second-placed Edifier Afterglow Esports Association team became richer with a Huawei Watch 4Pro smartwatch. Players from the third-place Lenovo Legion Honvéd team each took home an Xbox Elite Controller Blue and a three-month subscription to Xbox GamePass Ultimate.

The competition was also supported by the Hungarian E-sport Association (HUNESZ): the prestigious competition in a world-class technical environment brought spectacular battles, with a high number of spectators, proving the right to exist of the top e-sport events in Hungary.

It was also worth participating in the event as a fan: the visitors could also enter virtual reality in the VR arena, in the football corner they could show what they were capable of on Sony PS5 consoles, and they could also try out the Xbox Cloud Gaming experience on TVs. In addition, with the cooperation of the SZESE e-sports department of Széchenyi University in Győr, and with the help of Telekom's 5G Campus Network solution, they were able to experience the real-time racing experience on car racing simulators.

The championship is supported by more and more manufacturers and partners every year, providing prizes and technological background: in addition to Samsung Electronics Magyar Zrt. and Huawei Technologies Hungary Kft., the distributor of Alienware PCs, Dell Technologies, Ericsson, Xbox, and Győr Széchenyi University also supports the competition as a cooperating partner.
