General description of the Broadband Analogue
Optical Service
With its
broadband analogue optical service Magyar Telekom assumes to construct fully or
in part the optical plane of advanced HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax) CATV network of
cable television program transmission service providers (CATV companies) in
Hungary instead of the CATV companies and provides this service with assuming
the responsibility of operation.
Use of the Broadband Analogue Optical Service
- By
using the service, the CATV networks being in the neighbourhood of one other
(typically the neighbouring settlements) can be combined in order that a single
CATV headend will provide signal to all networks affected in combining.
- By
using this service, it can be reached a CATV network with the size where
broadband Internet, telephone, and possibly digital television (DVB-C) customer
services can be provided economically.
- Ordering
from Magyar Telekom an optical overlay network inside the settlement in the
case of a new network or network reconstruction.
- Connection
of an overlay area (building, block of houses) with difficult access inside a
town to a headend with an ONU.
Features of the Broadband Analogue Optical Service
- Long
distance transmission (1550 nm)
^·
- Bridging
of shorter distances / Implementation of an optical overlay network inside a
settlement (1310 nm)
- Forward
direction frequency range: 87.5-862 MHz
- Backward
direction frequency range: 5-65 MHz
- Service
transfer point in forward and backward directions at the headend and also from
the direction of the coax. RF
- Preferred
device: Harmonic
- Interactive
(if agreed so)
- Limiting
condition is that Magyar Telekom should have free optical fibre capacity in the
affected direction (it will be known in the course of a survey)
- Tailored
pricing (taking into consideration the expenses)
- Providing
customer service in person through a dedicated account manager
