Magyar Telekom organized a two-day program series called Digital Bridge Fest at several small settlements of Baranya on May 29-30. Magyar Telekom’s volunteers provided internet training to the residents of the settlements, accompanied by a diverse range of programs, thus helping to close the digital divide.

On May 29, Királyegyháza, Nagyharsány and Sellye, while on May 30, Kővágószőlős, Máza and Orfű hosted the Digital Bridge Fest. At every location, the volunteers of Magyar Telekom’s DigitalBridge at Small Settlements Program made presentations, provided customized training and organized a contest about the internet. With the stewardship of singer, musician, choreographer, Péter Novák, a talent contest also took place, where children and adults were welcome to perform. In the framework of a new type of job fair held at the locations of the event’s first day, the representatives of the Regional Labor Center of South-West Hungary and the Regional Training Center of Pécs presented how the internet can be used to find jobs or vocational training opportunities, as well as provided advice specifically about job hunting on the internet. The internet job fair and job counselling was also supported by the WiFi Village Program launched by the Foundation for Internet Penetration.
