Position: Senior IT Project Manager
Place of work: 1033 Budapest, Kórház u.6-12.
Employment: Full time, 40h/w, unlimited period
Travelling: required, frequency: regular 1-2 weeks distinct time periods abroad

Position Objective

The Senior IT Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver IT project(s) that span across one or more business units (ICSS, GNF, TDG). Manage resources, schedules, financials and adhere to stage gate quality and software development life cycle control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery.

The Senior Project Manager has the authority to run the project on a day-to-day basis. Verify that the project produces the required deliverables of quality, within the specified constraints of time and cost and to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of complex IT projects that span one or multiple lines of ICSS and GNF business.
  • Optimize and harmonize existing IT landscape.
  • Managing internal and external vendors.
  • Provide on-site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously.
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs.
  • Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested services.
  • Develop and manage all aspects of project and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project and program team.


  • Excellent experience in software development life cycle Methodologies, Agile, Hybrit, Waterfall.
  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
  • Managing internal and external vendors.
  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts, SLAs.
  • Experience managing international IT (transformation) projects & application management.
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors and demonstrated communication skills; all levels of management.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of (international) project management experience, including tracking and planning projects.
  • 5+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment.
  • Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment.
  • Demonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions and identifying priorities.
  • Fluent in English and German (both oral and in writing).
  • Very good understanding of IP, data transmission and telecommunications technology solutions in general.
  • Experience in telecommunications business particularly international wholesale is an advantage.
  • Proven knowledge and experience relevant to the position, and a commitment to continuously updating this knowledge.
