In the digital world of NOW, we watch TV on the Internet, surf the Internet on our mobile, and it is the same to use our devices at home or on the move, we can access our favorite content everywhere. According to the latest research, users in the 21st century combine digital means, i.e. use the services available so far as a single service. Recognizing this need, Magyar Telekom is updating the discount package Magenta 1 by unifying home and mobile services. We can select the optimal combination for ourselves, while the company rewards with significant discounts, if we benefit on the advantages and use the renewed package .

Our digital device usage habits have permanently and irrevocably transformed and become increasingly “internet-centric”.  This is also supported by a 2017 research by NMHH, according to which Internet plays a central role in the lives of the people: 91% of the 14-40 age group use it at least on a weekly basis, but the user numbers increase the most dynamically among those above 60 years of age: while back in 2009 only one of ten surfed the Internet, by now this percentage has increased to 41 percent. Most people - 94% of the users - use the net for surfing, whereas for 81% it represents mainly a communications channel on the social media sites. It is also considered indispensable for entertainment and relaxation (listening to music and watching videos, 67 percent), maintaining contacts (chat, forum, 66 percent), but already 61 percent use the internet also for official business. From the NMHH’s May flash report we can learn that more than half - 51.3 percent - of Hungarian TV subscribers watched digital cable TV or IPTV.

With the recently renewed Magenta 1, Telekom offers a discount package that is more complex and has more significant discounts than ever for this lifestyle that uses the Internet to the maximum possible extent.   Telekom helps its subscribers enter the digital world of NOW easily and quickly with a discount package containing up to 30 percent lower monthly fee, double mobile data traffic and up to 30 thousand HUF discount on device purchase.

Age is not an issue, as with the new Magenta 1 – for example with the help of a smart phone and a new combination of mobile voice and Internet tariff plan – the older generation can also easily connect to the digital world, the achievements of which are introduced to them by the younger Internet users: according to a new research by eNet17 percent of users below 41 years of age teaches their older family members to use the internet and digital devices on regular basis, while 59 percent of them every once in a while. No wonder that the number of grandparents an great-grandparents using the Internet is increasing: 33 percent of them use one, 37 percent of them use two, and 30 percent of them use three or more devices suitable for Internet surfing – most commonly smart phone and desktop computer.

The renewed discount tariff plan is available to those old or new Telekom subscribers who have at least two fixed and one mobile subscription.  Current Magenta 1 subscribers may switch to the new scheme with a free of charge tariff plan modification, but reclassification itself has to be applied for in the Telekom customer service.  Unexpired sign-on period is not a problem but can be rolled over to the new plan with the same conditions. At the same time, those using only fixed Telekom services today should also consider the benefits of joining Magenta 1.  The 30 percent discount can be used by adding only one new mobile voice and data tariff plan combination, moreover, as Magenta 1 customers they are eligible for doubled domestic mobile Internet data.

Those with one or more mobile subscriptions may become eligible for the Magenta 1 discounts with Telekom’s fixed Internet and TV services. On Telekom’s 21st century network you can rush on the Internet at a speed of up to two gigabits*. With the Super Family Movie subscription starting early September you can make entertainment complete with 10 more HD channels, 10 new Archive TV contents and with more than 6000 movies and TV series of Moziklub.

From September 1 on, it will be even easier to become a Magenta 1 subscriber and enjoy the greatest available discounts. With the use of the Magenta 1 discounted tariff plan, discounts of Telekom’s discount system are not available. Further information: telekom.hu/magenta1.
