Society
The internet has become an indispensable part of our lives. It allows us to search for information, connect with friends and family, shop, work, and entertain ourselves. While digitalization offers many advantages, there are still those for whom it presents a challenge to fully participate in the digital world.
At Magyar Telekom, we are committed to making the opportunities offered by the digital world accessible to everyone and supporting conscious, safe internet use. To this end, as part of our digitalization strategy, we provide various programs to promote digital literacy, so that as many people as possible can confidently and responsibly participate in the digital society.

Hello Parent
Recognizing that many parents are often left with unanswered questions about family-related issues and often need help, Magyar Telekom launched the Hello Parent family platform. The platform offers articles, interviews, podcasts, relevant offers, videos, downloads, tips, and expert advice for parents that can easily be integrated into everyday life.
The Hello Parent platform covers four main topics: online safety, better everyday life, learning, development, and happy family. The platform also addresses important social issues, promotes digital awareness, education, and opens dialogue(s) on frequently discussed topics. Since its launch in October 2023, the Hello Parent platform has achieved outstanding results. In its first full year of operation in 2024, it successfully met all its key performance indicators (KPIs), nearly doubling its targets in certain months. Magyar Telekom continued its nationwide Hello Parent roadshow-s, during which various topics were discussed with children, young people, and families with the help of experts.
Magyar Telekom launched its own initiative for the direct implementation of child protection activities. In addition to the content provided by Hello Parent – which targets children through parents – it also holds internet safety presentations at Arena Telekom business events and plans school classes. The Hello Parent platform has a dedicated budget, which is planned and reviewed annually.
"Netizens"
It is important that social groups with weaker digital skills also recognize and access the opportunities offered by technology. A strategic goal is to support social groups with weaker digital skills, such as the elderly, in experiencing the digital world and accessing the opportunities offered by technology: for social experiences, networking, knowledge acquisition, information, and entertainment. The aim is for the elderly to gain appropriate digital skills, confidence, and motivation to participate in the online world and integrate into society. The program also offers mental health benefits, helping the elderly to stay in touch with relatives and friends using ICT tools, thereby reducing feelings of loneliness. Many people need support and guidance for development, and it is clear that this help should come from those who know technology best: young people. Young people not only pass on their knowledge to the elderly but also learn a lot during the collaboration, in terms of empathy, communication, and cooperation, as well as skills such as critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and creativity. The Netizens program reduces the digital divide and promotes intergenerational communication and acceptance. The Netizens project launched in October 2023 and expanded significantly in April 2024.
Teachtoday
As a responsible large corporation, our task is to help ensure the safe use of the internet. We strive to ensure that all generations use the opportunities of the digital world smartly and consciously, and to eliminate the existing digital divide between certain regions of the country. In November 2017, Magyar Telekom also joined the Deutsche Telekom's Teachtoday initiative, thereby creating an opportunity for educational content to be widely disseminated online.
Telekom Kraft
Magyar Telekom is convinced that young people play a key role in digital development and transformation, shaping the future digital world with their digital knowledge, creativity, and innovative ideas. This belief is reinforced by KraftLab, a creative space created for the younger generation, which we opened in Debrecen in September 2021. KraftLab has four thematic rooms – a fully equipped Video Studio, a four-person Podcast Studio, a Training and Meeting Room, and a Music Lab with a DJ booth, which debuted in March 2023 – providing opportunities for young people to express their creativity and collaborate, strengthening their connection with the Telekom brand. From video production and streaming to podcasting and workshops, and modern music creation, KraftLab provides a space for young talents to express themselves in all areas.
Hello Business
Supporting the digital development of small and medium-sized enterprises is a key part of our strategy. The Telekom Hello Business platform, launched 8 years ago, serves this very purpose. Thanks to the platform, the SME sector receives not only products and services but also extensive digital knowledge and expert advice. The initiative provides practical news and information in video and written format on the Hello Business website (hellobusiness.telekom.hu). The program's own Facebook page already has tens of thousands of followers thanks to continuous content production. In addition, an expert Facebook group assists SMEs with their tax, legal, marketing, and other questions. Furthermore, our "D Plan" initiative provides downloadable templates for businesses on various topics to help them develop their own digitalization strategies.
Responsible employer
As a responsible employer, it is extremely important for us to maintain trust-based relationships with our employees, trade unions, and employee representatives. We provide opportunities for our colleagues to unleash their talents and individual values, and to actively contribute their ideas to the success of our company. We are committed to the idea that digitalization plays an important role in creating an accessible everyday life. As an employer, it is a fundamental requirement for us that our physical and digital work environment is comfortable and usable for employees with disabilities and altered work abilities.
Further information on Magyar Telekom's initiatives can be found in our integrated report.
Within the framework of Magyar Telekom's digitalization strategy, we pay special attention to ensuring that our employees can develop individually on a daily basis. To this end, we offer online learning platforms where everyone can expand their knowledge at their own pace. These include Coursera or Percipio, where a wide range of courses, videos, books, and audiobooks are available on topics such as leadership, technology, development, and digital transformation, helping our colleagues in their professional and personal development. We also collaborate with MOME on data visualization projects, where colleagues can gain valuable knowledge together with the university.
Family-friendly Telekom
As a family-friendly company, we help our employees manage the tasks involved in caregiving with numerous opportunities and solutions. Caring for our family members and spending quality time together is a common need for all of us, regardless of age. Therefore, Magyar Telekom supports its employees in various ways.
Atypical employment
With the increasingly widespread application of atypical employment forms, the company supports the alleviation of work-life balance tensions. Thus at Magyar Telekom, depending on life situations and job scope, there is an opportunity for part-time or flexible employment. In addition, remote work is also part of our daily work culture. The design of our digital tools, workstations, and community spaces also supports flexible, location-independent work.
Childcare and career
When navigating changing life situations, we believe in informed planning. In our knowledge base designed to assist with starting a family and becoming a parent, we publish comprehensive details on the labor and administrative aspects of these life changes. We have introduced a formal process to support taking leave and returning to work after having a child, where the key elements are proactive planning, maintaining contact, and having reintegration support solutions readily available. Furthermore, we operate a Children's Playroom at Magyar Telekom's headquarters, which provides a few hours of professional childcare during the spring, summer, and autumn school holidays.
Health and sport
A company can only be as fit as its employees. At Magyar Telekom, free medical screenings are available all year round to help maintain our physical and mental health. The fitness room at the headquarters is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and personal trainers. True to our traditions, we are committed sports enthusiasts, and we enthusiastically participate in team sports and celebrate each other's individual sporting successes, and once a year we spend an unforgettable day of movement and sport with our family members at "Move Telekom!" Family and Sports Day.
Disability-friendly workplace
We are continuously improving our practices regarding the recruitment, employment, and retention of people with disabilities. We consciously work to ensure that our work environment, culture, and processes support our employees with disabilities or altered working capacities, enabling them to perform to their full potential. In addition to our inclusive recruitment practices and our fully accessible headquarters, we also collaborate with organizations that advocate for the interests of people with disabilities and support their workforce integration.
Diversity
At Magyar Telekom, we view the diversity of our employees as a core value and a distinct business advantage. Our policies and guidelines guarantee our commitment to a corporate culture built on equal opportunity. Magyar Telekom is dedicated to fostering diversity, which is why we actively support employee resource groups that bring together representatives and allies of various diversity dimensions. Our MagentaPride group champions LGBTQ+ initiatives, while Women at Telekom works to advance gender equality. Accessible Telekom promotes workplace inclusion for employees with disabilities or altered working capacities. Meanwhile, the Telekom Families community supports families, parents, grandparents, and those caring for chronically ill relatives. Each of these employee networks is composed of both directly affected individuals and allies, working hand in hand to make a meaningful impact for their respective communities.
We build an open and inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves, regardless of their background. We are diverse,
and we can bring out the best in ourselves and each other by relying on our diverse backgrounds and knowledge. Our commitment
to anti-discrimination is an important step to recognize and learn to manage our unconscious biases, and we share our methods
with others. In our ethical operations, we rely on the tools and practices of our culture to maintain a workplace environment
free from sexism and other forms of discrimination.
These voluntary employee groups are open to all colleagues, and with their initiatives, they contribute to building an even
more diverse and inclusive workplace together.
At Magyar Telekom, we believe that the diversity of our employees is a key business advantage, as people with different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking bring unique perspectives to everyday work. This diversity not only enriches the company's internal culture but also tangibly contributes to the creation of more creative and innovative solutions, which is essential for success in a rapidly changing world. Our diverse teams bring different perspectives, ideas, and solution proposals to common work, which is an advantage for us during the product development process.
The Magyar Telekom Group, which includes Magyar Telekom and Telekom Rendszerintegráció Ltd., conducts a Pulse survey two times a year, providing deeper insight into employees' local feedback and its evaluation. This practice supports the organization's mature feedback culture, making it possible to identify potential weaknesses in a timely manner and fine-tune appropriate corrective measures.
