Budapest – June 22, 2018 – Magyar Telekom (Reuters: MTEL.BU and Bloomberg: MTELEKOM HB, hereinafterthe “Company”), the leading Hungarian telecommunications service provider, hereby announces that the Company’s Extraordinary General Meeting held today elected Tibor Rékasi as member of the Board of Directors from July 1, 2018, who will also become the Company’s Chief Executive Officer from the same date on.

As the Company announced earlier, Christopher Mattheisen Chief Executive Officer resigned from his Chief Executive Officer and Board member positions as of July 1, 2018, and the Board of Directors appointed Tibor Rékasi as Chief Executive officer from July 1, 2018.

The Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company held today elected Tibor Rékasi as member of the Board of Directors as of July 1, 2018 until May 31, 2019, provided that if the 2019 Annual General Meeting is held prior to May 31, 2019, then his mandate expires on the day of the Annual General Meeting.
