Budapest,
DorkandKozma, as they are known, achieved worldwide fame and
recognition with the artistic procedure called raypainting that they
patented: they have projected already on a hotel in the Alps and a
several-hundred-year-old Academy of Art. Their spectacular and
grandiose works of art come to life through glass painting and
high-power projectors. The colors placed on glass panes with mixed
technique are always composed in harmony with the given urban surface:
brilliantly rich pictures come to life on bridges, walls of houses,
surfaces of parks, squares, streets. While Dóra paints the glass
pictures, Péter makes the project sculptures that provoke the space. In
Budapest earlier they made contemporary works of art out of community
places and objects like Millenáris Park, Erzsébet Bridge or most
recently the old-new Városháza square where a row of shops was
demolished. Their latest work, Beamsphere creates a complex microworld;
the intersensual installation extending to every detail once again
raises viewers out of the everyday urban viewpoint.
The outdoor exhibition can be seen from December 19, 2005 to January 1,
2006 every day from dusk to midnight on the facade of Magyar Telekom’s
headquarters (Budapest I., Krisztina krt. 55). A snack bar and internet
terminals will be available at the venue for visitors who can also try
out the so-called light-space furniture.
