Iridium mobile telecommunications service provider company has announced that it wound up its commercial service on March 18, 2000. The company that can be called from Hungary on 00-8816 and 00-8817 has also announced that it will continue to provide its mobile telecommunications service for another few weeks. Meanwhile the current Iridium subscribers will have the possibility to choose an alternative service.

MATÁV informs Hungarian users that it will ensure continuous availability of Iridium services as long as they operate.
