Matáv's Donation Line - 1788

Budapest, March 4, 2002

From May 1, 2002 Matáv offers a telephone-based opportunity to give/collect donations by dialing the number 1788. "Matáv's Donation Line" can be used by non-profit organizations, foundations and associations. Organizations wishing to use "Matáv's Donation Line" can submit their applications to Matáv's Donation Board from March 1 on.

Most people are ready to offer their donations to the sick, handicapped and needy, but good intentions are often frustrated by clumsy administration. There are a great many organizations in Hungary that devote their work to improving the circumstances of the needy, but they do not have the material prerequisites for the attainment of their goals.
"Matáv's Donation Line" connects people who wish to give with the organizations collecting donations.

From May 1, 2002, HUF 100 can be donated by making a call to the phone number 1788; this amount goes to the organization using the "Matáv's Donation Line" service in that period. Within one period, only one organization may collect donations through the Donation Line. Matáv's customers will regularly be informed on the organizations that can be supported in the various periods by dialing 1788.
From March 1, 2002, non-profit organizations, foundations and associations can submit their application for using "Matáv's Donation Line". The terms of application are available at www.matav.hu, in the March 2002 issue of SANSZ and at www.sansz.ngo.hu.

The Donation Line can be called from Matáv's full service area except for public payphones and GSM-RLL lines.
