Until December 31, 2002 Matáv offers its customers using the "Csevegő" tariff package 50% discount on the call charge after 5 minutes duration on all local and long-distance zone 1, 2 and 3 calls within Matáv's network. This offer can be used by Matáv customers subscribing to a new "Csevegő" tariff package or already having one.

The "Csevegő" tariff package launched in December 2001 offers 20% discount after the 5th minute of the call and 30% discount after the 10th minute without monthly subscription fee. Matáv is raising this discount rate until December 31, 2002 so customers can make calls within Matáv's network with 50% discount between the 5th and the 60th minute.
For mobile calls, international calls and national calls to outside Matáv's network the existing 20% discount after the 5th minute and 30% discount after the 10th minute until the 60th minute remain in force. The "Csevegő" tariff package discounts apply only to voice traffic, but not to Internet traffic to "0651" or local access numbers.

Matáv Group's Communication Director Bálint Nagy said:"So far almost 150,000 customers have selected the "Csevegő" tariff package. Matáv intends to promote competition on the fixed-line market also with this offer until December 31.

Change from the "Bázis" tariff package to the "Csevegő" tariff package is free of charge.
