Sustainable Cities, Green Economy, Community Force —Telekom’s Sustainability Press Award Again this Year
Entries for the “hello tomorrow!” Press Award are invited in the form of articles published in the printed or online press as well as in the form of blogs or programs broadcast on TV or radio between September 1, 2011 and August 1, 2012.
The primary reason for the establishment of the award has been that many people still have questions about sustainability, about what the future will be like and what steps need to be taken for sustainable development. These questions keep people’s minds occupied, among them journalists also, who play an important role in bringing these messages to the widest possible sectors of society. A lot depends on the media and on the journalists’ sense of responsibility, as they are in a position to articulate questions and provide useful information to readers in the interest of sustainable development.
Telekom’s Award has been established jointly with the Sustainability Media Club also established by it. At the time of the Club’s foundation in 2011 its members – Magyar Telekom, RTL Klub, TV2, Sanoma, Class FM, CEMP Group (Index), Origo, Metropol, Axel Springer, Est Media – undertook to report on sustainability to the widest possible audience in simple and clear forms and illustrated by specific and practical examples. They also undertook to set up a system of competitions for NGOs and laid down the foundations of an Award to be created for the press.
The invitation for entries and additional information related to the Award are available atwww.helloholnap.hu
Magyar Telekom as Hungary’s leading info communication service provider is committed, in keeping with its mission, to the principle of sustainable development. It is for this reason that it launched its “hello holnap!” initiative in December 2010. Telekom would like to make the concept of sustainability part of everyday life in a way that is clear and can be accommodated easily and, at the same time, to show that a liveable future is our common responsibility.
