Movie Arena: Even Richer Television Experience from T-Home

Budapest, September 25, 2012 13:00

Contents available in T-Home’s Interactive TV Videotheque can be viewed not only on the TV screen: through the film lending Moziaréna (Movie Arena) service hundreds of films are now accessible on the computer screen via smart phones and tablets enabled to use the service.

T-Home, the company spearheading innovation, has reported that today it is launching its brand new Moziaréna service, which enables T-Home’s Interactive TV subscribers to borrow films via the computer from the service’s Videotheque.
“As a market leader service provider Magyar Telekom strives to provide an ever richer service to its customers: in this spirit we constantly expand our range of integrated services. Thanks to our development enabling mobility among screens we can now view our favourite Videotheque films on our laptop, tablet or even our smart phone,” said Christopher Mattheisen, Magyar Telekom’s Chairman-CEO.
The service is being made available first to T-Home’s Interactive TV (IPTV or Interactive Sat TV) subscribers. Following the free-of-charge registration at the Moziaréna portal ( www.moziarena.hu) you can immediately choose from the best movie films. If you find a film you like, it can be borrowed immediately through the Moziaréna interface of the computer. The fee for lending the film will be payable subsequently, along with the regular, monthly invoice related to T-Home’s Interactive TV service. The Moziaréna service will soon be available for not only Telekom, but also to customers of any other service provider.
In the www.moziarena.hu site trailers can be played and contents free-of-charge or for pay can be borrowed. Borrowed contents can be viewed not only on the computer via the browser, they can be viewed and played also by enabled mobile devices, with the help of the smart-phone application of Moziaréna.
To facilitate selection from films the whole range of Moziaréna’s offer can be viewed through the smart-phone application: users can search film data, view trailers and mark them as their favourite. Only content borrowed from the Moziaréna portal can be played in the mobile application. The service operates independently from the type of internet connection (wifi or mobile). (However playing films in the application requires an internet connection with at least 0.6 Mbit/sec band-width and at least the Android 3.0 or the iOS 4.3 operating system is necessary for the Moziaréna application. The downloading and use of Moziaréna generate data usage. A 90-minute film involves approximately 2 gigabyte downloading data usage. The service can be used by mobile internet only with a Hungarian mobile internet subscription and exclusively within Hungary).
Using the Interactive TV’s Videotheque service TV viewers can depart from the traditional and linear program stream and select movie films that otherwise become available for subscribers as long as 6 months later compared to commercial channels and 2-3 months later compared to well known film channels. All films becoming available are dubbed, have an excellent image and sound quality and are fully licensed. Hundreds of films of over 40 film production and distribution firms can be viewed in the service.
Following the implementation, of its IPTV service (November 2006), the first of its kind in the Hungarian market, T-Home launched as another first (in December 2011) its satellite TV service enriched by new interactive services. Recently T-Home has made its Interactive TV service available everywhere in the country.
Service details as well as technological and other terms and conditions are available at www.t-home.hu and www.moziarena.hu.
