MATÁV and the Hungarian Radio formally signed the agreement under which MATÁV continues in 2000 the support it has been giving to Bartók Radio for several years. The agreement was signed by István Hajdu, president of Hungarian Radio, and by Elek Straub, chairman-chief executive officer of MATÁV in the Headquarters of MATÁV at 3 p.m. on December 9, 1999.

MATÁV continues the tradition of the previous years and will act as chief sponsor of Bartók Radio also in 2000. The company has been supporting the cultural channel of the Hungarian Radio for three years and the agreement signed today covers the fourth year of cooperation.

Matáv's name is associated with the following programs in the framework of the support: Musician of the Week, Musician of the Month, Tuesday night opera broadcasts, Night Jazz Club, World Music Day, Music in the Morning, Music in the Afternoon, Classical and Jazz, and Our globe-trotting artists in the Marble Hall.

The sum of the support given by MATÁV exceeds HUF 15 million.
